Everyone You Know: New EP "Look After Your Pennies"

Everyone You Know is the brother duo Harvey and Rhys, who deliver live shows in pulsating form. They have released their new EP “Look After Your Pennies” today,

Their music is inspired by their appreciation of 90s hip-hop and rave. The core of the music with the lyrics, riffs, and melodies, all come from the duo. Harvey does all the drums, programming and creates the breaks, whilst Rhys does the lyrics and vocals. There’s no formulaic creative process in writing, other than maybe starting with a simple guitar riff or chord that they build upon. But sampling forms a huge part of the composition, a lot of which is inspired by the soul and funk records Harvey heard his Dad playing growing up.

On the new music, Rhys elaborates: “We aren’t talking about flash cars, or generic break ups, or spending a load of money on materialistic shit. We’re talking about everyday, real life experiences,” a process that they describe is nothing more complicated than just wearing your heart on your sleeve, rather than being concerned over chasing trends or hits.
