Wild Front | The Great Escape Top 10
Favourites of BBC and NME, Wild Front are a band who have seemingly out of nowhere suddenly taken the lead in UK’s indie band scene.
But not like their fellow bands who they share stages with, Wild Front take a new approach to live performance, taking advantage of their instruments in every capacity possible. Thought first off they may look like any other 4-piece band on stage with guitars, bass, and drums, there were points in the set where lead singer Jack Williams bowed his guitar like a violin and even his teeth had a gander at strumming it.
The group hail from UK’s Southampton, but carry a Southern Californian vibe in their music, characterized by laid back funky rhythms, bright guitars and a major key sound.
Their new single ‘Simmer Down’ was released the Friday of the Great Escape festival itself, played with a different sort of energy to the rest. Set to be a song to characterise festival season of summer 2018, make sure to catch them on a line up soon.
