The Faim | The Great Escape Top 10
The Faim delivered one of the most vibrant, exciting, and definitely sweatiest set of the entire Great Escape weekend, as strong representatives of the buzzing Australian music scene emerging today.
The band were able to encapsulate every person in the audience. Though primarily a rock-inspired band, were able to appeal to the more pop inclined fans too due to their memorable hooks, lyrics’ clear delivery and emotive themes too, and bright guitars that accompany.
A rather unassuming crowd initially, they were definitely taken by pleasant surprise as the vivacity that lead singer Josh Raven took. He took great effort to interact with his audience, from joining the centre of the crowd a number of times, to making eye contact and holding hands with members of the audience. Ultimately they had hundreds inside jumping and dancing throughout, which only added to the charm of the entire performance.
The Faim are brand new for 2018 and have only played a handful of shows so far, with just three single releases to their name. However, they could easily be mistaken for a group who have been touring for years together. They deliver with such a natural comfort, along with a confidence where they know exactly what they’re doing and how to capture their crowd.
Their debut single ‘Saints of the Sinner’ was definitely a highlight of the set, and the band also performed their just released their third single ‘Summer Is A Curse.’
They band headed out on a UK tour just the day after, which included an appearance at Tufnell Park’s The Dome in support of PVMNTS. The band are set to return to UK this year for Reading and Leeds festival too, so make sure to catch them there!
We have no doubt we’re going to see them on their own headline tour in the very near future, but in the meanwhile, check out their new song ‘Summer Is A Curse’ here!
