SOURCE: Alice Chater, Maeve, Tara Lee
Live Nation’s SOURCE is a regular night hosted by the promotions company specially to showcase new music. This week’s night saw a powerhouse night for the ladies, introducing: Tara Lee, Maeve, and Alice Chater.
Tara Lee performed an acoustic set, featuring just herself on the keyboard and singing. She came further and further out of her shell as the set went on, and a strong vocal defining each of her songs throughout. It can often be a challenge for a new artist to grab an audience with an acoustic set but Tara was not phased at all and certainly left with a few new fans.
Maeve continued the night. Still new to performing, it wouldn’t be obvious whilst watching her as she is so vibrant on stage and her set so slick. She performs with a couple of band members behind her to augment her funky sound to cross over in to electronic pop, whilst Maeve plays the African drums centre stage and sings. The eclectic range of styles used in her sound makes for an innovative live set up.
Alice Chater (or sometimes referred to simply as Alice) headlined the night. With her latest single ‘Heartbreak Hotel’ unexpectedly taking radio and playlists by storm, the double threat top class dancer and vocal powerhouse singer took the small room of Old Blue Last and made it her own space. She is truly set to become a global pop star, mirroring pop queens of the past like Britney or Christina in her movements and overall artistic identity.
