REVIEW: JC Stewart's First Headline Show | With Travis is a Tourist
JC Stewart had his first ever headline show at the 100-cap Waiting Room venue in East London. The gig was a way for the new artist to test the waters as he teams up with promoters Live Nation for a free gig, for which the online sign ups were far over-subscribed.
JC Stewart is a new pop artist who writes and plays his own music. Having released a couple of his tracks independently in 2014 and 2016, he started a steadier stream of releases in 2018 which have caught widespread attention - ‘Medicine’ and ‘Like I Did.’
He also took part in a Mahogony Session this year playing the same two songs, but his live show was the first opportunity to be able to see his wider repertoire, which see the classic live instrumentation line up combined with extensive live production too.
Travis is a Tourist opened the night, travelling from Belfast to perform. Still at the stage of his career where he is developing and refining his live set, he performed an acoustic set on his acoustic guitar, and got the audience to sing along on his newly released song ‘SOFARSOGOOD.’
Look out for JC Stewart in 2019, as the bustling audience prove his forthcoming live and recording career to be promising!
