Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, who presents the BBC Music Introducing show, also makes an effort to champion new music on his own independent platform ‘Huw Stephens Presents,’ where he runs his own monthly nights at The Social.
To round off 2018, be introduced 70s throwback funky rock band Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, who share Huw’s hometown of Cardiff.
Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard filled the small venue with as much noise as possible. With ‘John Lennon Is My Jesus Christ’ as their most memorable tune, it’s no question where Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard’s rock ‘n’ roll inspiration comes from. Lead singer, Tom Rees, is particularly theatrical in his performance, and much more so than would be expected from an indie band.
‘Double Denim Hop’ was their debut single in 2018, and is presently the only release to their name. Though at the very very start of their career, the powerful live show that Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard delivered only makes their 2019 look promising as ever.
Keep an eye out for them and keep in touch with Huw Stephens’ new music tips too to get ahead of the best in new music.
