Pale Waves Debut Album | My Mind Makes Noises

Pale Waves release their debut album ‘My Mind Makes Noises’ this week via Dirty Hit, joining a roster with the likes of The 1975 and Wolf Alice. Dubbed as one of the most anticipated albums this year, the album sees the highly successful single releases the band has put out throughout the year, such as ‘Television Romance,’ ‘Kiss’ and ‘Eighteen,’ as well as some never before heard tracks.

The group launched the pop-tastic, guitar heavy album with an in-store Rough Trade East performance, which saw frontwoman Heather Baron-Gracie take to the stage on her own with just an acoustic guitar, though her bandmates were all in the vicinity too. It was a rare and special opportunity to see the songs performed in a stripped back set up. Most memorable moment of this was when Heather performed album’s closing track “Karl (I wonder what it’s like to die).” The group don’t perform this track on their headline tours, and understandably so as it is clearly so dear to Heather’s heart, addressing a personal loss she had in her childhood and left the audience with tears.

Their largest tour to date begins next week, most of which is already sold out, including London’s show at the o2 Shepherds Bush Empire – an unbelievable milestone for a band to achieve before they even had their first release. Make sure to catch them and check out the new album here!
