Otzeki | SXSW Top 25

Otzeki is one of the most dynamic artists working their way through the live scene right now, and delivered a set to remember. Joining LA based record label BC3Si (Fickle Friends) and leading independent artist advocate AWAL's collaborative showcase in Downtown Austin.

Lead singer Mike doesn’t just take advantage of the space on stage, but the entire venue is in fact his stage. After the first song, he spent the entire night weaving his way through the audiences and making them part of the performance, whether it was singing a romance song to a cute girl whilst holding her hand and looking in to her eyes, or whether it was climbing upon the bar on a angrier song. Whatever the emotion of the song was, Otzeki gave what actually an interactive theatrical performance… with bloody good tunes to speak his words.

Inspired by the scenes of Berlin, the British duo create an eclectic sound of electronic dance rock, creating a huge sound from just the two of them and fusing live guitars and keys in the mix to give a truly musical perspective on electronic music.
