Mia Gladstone: 'Grow'

Mia Gladstone is the newest artist from the tri-state area making waves. New Jersey to New York, this funky jazz pop artist performed her first headline show with Invertebrate Music at the Lower East Side’s Berlin venue with a full band performance.

Already tipped as an artist to watch on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, her new song ‘Grow’ was just released this week, perfectly demonstrating her artistry and what she aims to achieve. ‘Grow’ has a fast paced yet laid back composition, making for an exciting listen, making the listener constantly anticipate the next note.

Her voice is one of the creamiest voices the emerging artist scene has to offer. A old-school Amy Winehouse-esque husky deepness is the best way to describe it, augmented as she layers her own voice with harmonies. Not to mention, she also produces all of her own tracks. But she’s not too cool to enjoy herself – she performed her entire set with a massive smile on her face and a keenness to get to know her audience, and this nature of hers added an extra charm to the set overall.

Truly set to be an all rounded pop star with an independent mind, Mia Gladstone not only puts on an entertaining show but is an inspiration.
