Hey Charlie | Live at Leeds Top 12
Hey Charlie - Lizz, Sophie, and Lauren - are a trio who are bringing grunge rock music back to the independent music scene.
On stage, their aesthetic is incredibly effective. Clad in identical uniforms of skirts, tops and boots, and swooshing their long blonde hair making part of the performance. The girls’ friendship back from when they were studying is obvious on stage too, whether its them sharing a microphone or moving on the floor in coordination with their guitars in the air.
Within minutes, Hey Charlie was able to get a wild mosh pit going, and it continued throughout the half hour set. These included all the tracks you may find online, including their debut ‘Hey’ released one year to the day from Live at Leeds (Happy Anniversary!!), ‘Young & Lonesome,’ ‘Cheer Up Princess,’ and more unreleased ones that we can’t wait for. Their latest single ‘Love Machine’ has proven to be their most popular hits, the range of dynamics used throughout the song making it an incredibly intense part of the set, full of suspense in the slower stiller parts.
The group have impressive support sets including The Beaches and Yungblug coming up, as well as a Finsbury Park performance over summer sharing a space on the line-up with Liam Gallagher, so you have no excuse to miss them!
